Notable Needlefelts
We wanted to post about a couple of inspiring needlefelt artists…
You probably have all seen this adorable needle felted version of a young Jabba the Hut. Via Craftzine “Kit Lane created this fantastic needle-felted Jabba the Hut (The Early Years) for the Stitch Wars exhibit at Bear and Bird Boutique in Lauderhill, Florida. The show is a collection of handmade goods celebrating Star Wars.”

But did you take a look at Kit Lane’s other works?

I believe these little bunny like creatures are called Jacabobs and she has wonderful little stories and songs about them in her descriptions. And I can’t help it…but anything with two heads is awesome, especially if they’re sharing a pair of bunny ears!

And I really like how she uses bone and dog hair in her Common Terrestrial Garden Cephalopod. The shell eyes are brilliant!

One of our favorite felters of ALL time and fellow UFS consignor is Made by Moxie. Many of you have learned to needle felt with Moxie at Maker Faire or seen her work at Plush You shows…
All her work is so whimsical and funny with bright, saturated colors (which I love). And her attention to details is amazing. Look at that tiny finger puppet’s puppet!

I love her sense of scale. She can take the smallest everyday object and make it so fun and eye catching when blown up 800% and made from wool felt! As she said in this image description You know you can’t “resistor” ha ha….and she’s right!
